A Christmas Angel and another Pfatt Giveaway!

Can it be -- December already?! Seems I spend the first part of my life wishing for Life to hurry up, and now I wish it'd slow down a bit!

This week, we have a Christmas Poinsettia Angel doll waiting for a new home. She's festive in coppery gold, red, and green - certain to brighten her own little corner.

Also - the artists of Pfatt are hosting a Christmas giveaway! Visit the Pfatt Blog to leave a comment, which will throw your name in the hat! Since we're in poinsettia mode here, I'm offering a Little Dollings' poinsettia ornie over there.
Best of luck, and have Pfun!!

I hope your week is filled with joyful anticipation of the holiday season!

Marie Antionette - a Poinsettia Queen

She too was a Poinsettia lover -- who knew?! Marie "Pointoinette" has arrived just in time for the holiday celebration! I spared no expense and gave much time to this dolly, who is one of my all time favorites! You can visit her on ebay this week, till Sunday eve.

Would you believe, this little lady reminded me of wedding cakes? Yes, many moons ago, I was a cake maker - or, cake 'builder', you might say. Dowel rods: they're not just for wedding tiers! Maybe it was that experience that gave me this perspective: Little Dollings are built to be stable for a few hundred years or so, at the very least!

She also got the ole 'saran wrap treatment'. (You might be familiar with this one, girls?!) I didn't want to finish that classic high hair style, till the poinsettia collar was attached. But a foot of hair can sure be pesky, uncontrolled!

Ah, I'm continually intrigued with the process of all art - and if you're like me, you always wonder what's hidden underneath the pretty parts! A little wondering is fun, and good for a few smiles, too!

I want to take a moment to wish all of you a warm and Happy Thanksgiving holiday! And thank you, for being a little part of my world.

Ah, the truth about dolling, Dahlings..

I vowed some time ago to stop worrying about the mess in the Artsy Room on a daily basis. (Still a struggle, truth be told). But I'm getting better! Sometimes, I even leave the mess overnight! I'm so proud of myself! lol

(I also vowed to paint the cupboards, but that's already moved to the 'Next Year's New Year's Resolution' List.)

Makes me giggle to think of those magazine pics I drool over... beautiful, creative spaces.. dreamy, inviting, UNmessy. You can even see the floor! haha. Well, at our house, Gracie (our loving/grumpy black kitty) makes a beeline every morning for the Artsy Room floor. She loves to eat thread, yup. Good thing she's around...A reminder, you know, to break out the vacuum cleaner!

(That's Lucy in the picture. Lucy isn't a thread-eater.. she's more of a squirrel stalker.)

Anyway, I thought it might give you a giggle too, Dear Readers, to know the truth about Dolling: It ain't always pretty. Seriously!

And Here we come A-Carolin this week, with a Little Dolling Poinsettia. You can visit her on ebay through Sunday!

A Christmas Mistletoe Poinsettia Doll

Mary Kissmas is here! -- and she's the first of several Poinsettia dollings to come this season. Dressed in winter white and pale pink, she's dreamy and sparkly, and all puckered up under her very own mistletoe!
Click on her picture to visit her on ebay this week...

A big 'Thank you!" to my PFATT sister, Sandy Wood, for designing my winter banner! If you need anything in the graphics department, pop in to see her -- she's so talented, and can create something special just for you!
****
Much is going on, in my little corner of the world. I've taken a break from daily online activities (blog visiting and group discussions, mostly) to focus on my health. Little Dollings will be getting a makeover in the near future, and I plan to make room to share some 'non-art' things that may help someone else along the way. More on that later...
****
Meanwhile.. holiday anticipation is already in the air... and my Christmas-loving hubby is about to hang lights before the Ohio freeze hits. Even though he insists, "No, we're not turning them on yet!"...

That reminds me... where'd I put my Mistletoe??!

Warm hugs n smiles, Everyone!

Pumpkin Pie Fairy Doll

It's that time of year - when pumpkin pies magically appear! Inspired by the cooking Queen, Paula Deen, I present "Polly Dream, Pumpkin Pie Fairy Queen!" Yup, she's sweet, she's sparkly, she's waving her Magic Whisk -- and even better -- her Pumpkin Pies have no fat, no sugar, no calories!

This dolly was born last month, after I went looking for a Paula Deen recipe for the upcoming holidays. The only thing better than baking a pumpkin pie is eating it-!- and this one is melt-in-your-mouth delicious! Here's the link to Paula Deen's Pumpkin Pie recipe -- on the menu for Ostrowski holiday celebrations this year! (I did substitute light cream cheese in ours... I think Paula would approve.) ;)

And here's a peek from You Tube - my first hilarious exposure to Paula was an Oprah rerun - where she addressed her critics, and *oops* chopped a glass bowl into her Grandma's pound cake batter! Needless to say, she stole my heart, and made "The List". (Hubby and I keep a virtual tally of "People We'd Like to Be Our Neighbors" - fun loving, silly souls - the best kind to share coffee with in the morning, or a chat over the backyard fence!)

Click on this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zdCAjpjYOM to see baking, Paula Deen style! Oh, she makes me giggle!

Meanwhile, our own little Polly Dream whips up Pumpkin Pie over on ebay, through Sunday night, Oct. 25. Stop by and grab a bite!

And, have a great week, Y'all!
